Glasgow, United Kingdom — 10 March 2026 — Digital Footprints today announced its position as the first founding investor in Social Impact Scotland, marking a significant milestone in strengthening digital capacity within Scotland’s social impact ecosystem.
Social Impact Scotland is Scotland’s first values-led, independent mechanism designed to connect patient capital with preventative and community-led programmes. This mechanism will help unlock preventative investment, strengthening communities, reducing inequalities, and relieving pressure on public services. Social Impact Scotland is now partnering with Digital Footprints to expand its reach and digital capability.
Rather than a traditional financial investment, Digital Footprints’ contribution focuses on enabling Social Impact Scotland to become fully digitally ready through access to its specialist development and marketing resources. This partnership is designed to drive organisational growth, expand reach, and enhance long-term impact through strategic digital transformation.
Digital Footprints will provide expertise across web development, digital infrastructure, branding, and marketing strategy, ensuring Social Impact Scotland is equipped with the tools and platforms needed to effectively engage stakeholders, scale initiatives, and support communities across Scotland.
“Social Impact Scotland represents an important step forward in connecting purpose-driven organisations and accelerating meaningful change, and we are delighted to be the founding investors,” said Sharon McFarlane, Managing Director, Digital Footprints. “By investing our time and resources from a design, development and marketing perspective, we are helping lay the technological and strategic foundations that will allow Social Impact Scotland to grow sustainably and maximise its impact.”
Social Impact Scotland aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and measurable social outcomes across sectors. The partnership with Digital Footprints will enable the organisation to launch and operate with strong digital infrastructure, positioning it for national reach and long-term success. Social Impact Scotland is currently working to establish a small circle of founding partners who share a commitment to prevention, innovation and long-term social value.
Gerry Hamill, Director of Social Impact Scotland, said:
“Digital readiness is not a luxury for organisations seeking to drive meaningful social change. It is foundational.
The support from Digital Footprints allows Social Impact Scotland to build the digital infrastructure and visibility needed to connect investors, delivery partners and communities across the country.
Our aim is simple. To make it easier for preventative investment to reach the people and places where it can make the greatest difference. This founding partnership is an important early step in building that national ecosystem.”
